NDIS Clients Interpreter Bookings

My Gain will provide Auslan Interpreting Services as per the following:

Rates

Face-to-Face / Onsite Interpreting

These rates are subject to change according to the NDIS price guide.

Minimum Charge Policy

  • There is a minimum 2 hour charge on all face-to-face bookings.

  • There is a minimum 1.5 hour charge on all video remote interpreting (VRI) bookings.

  • Additional charges will be incremental every 30 minutes thereafter.

Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)

  • The welfare of an interpreter is in accordance with the national WHS standards whereby many settings of 2 hours or more, 2 interpreters must be employed to work in tandem to reduce physical and mental fatigue.  The required number of interpreters is determined on a case-by-case basis, considering the duration of the appointment, speed and content of the appointment, number of scheduled breaks, and the number of participants in the appointment. 

Remote Travel

  • Where an interpreter is over 100 kms from the appointment location, booking charges will be based upon the return travel time plus the minimum duration of the appointment at the hourly rates above.

  • The distance of an appointment is predetermined using Google Maps to calculate the distance and time taken to travel to and from the assignment.  This will be advised at the time of the booking.

Additional Expenses

  • Some bookings may require additional expenses such as car parking, flights and accommodation.  These costs will be negotiated in advance of the booking being confirmed.

Cancellation

  • Appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the start time will incur the full cost of the booking.  Appointments cancelled within 24-48 hours of the start time will incur 50% of the booking.

Failure to attend

  • If the client and/or professional do not arrive within 30 minutes of the scheduled start time, without any notification to My Gain, then the appointment is deemed cancelled and full cost of the booking will be incurred.

Unable to service

  • No fee is payable by the Organisation for booking requests cancelled and agreed supports have not been provided by My Gain.

Our Responsibilities

  • Provide professional services as specified in the booking request and confirmation

  • Will communicate any change to the confirmed booking as soon as possible

  • Abide by the Australian Sign Language Interpreters Association (ASLIA) Code of Ethics

  • Treat you with courtesy and respect

  • Protect your privacy and personal information

  • Listen to your feedback and resolve problems quickly

Your Responsibilities

  • Will communicate the full details of the booking, including any special requirements to ensure our interpreters can deliver the services required

  • Contact My Gain if you cannot attend or will be late (refer Cancellation)

  • Tell us if your NDIS plan changes, is suspended or you stop using the NDIS

  • Talk to My Gain if you have any concerns about the service being provided

  • Treat our staff with courtesy and respect

  • Pay for services provided according to the Rates above
